Everything in a nutshell...

I am aware I have been bad about posting. I am sort of sucked into posting over at LiveJournal.

1) Dr. Horrible is back online. Watch it here, now, right now, if you haven't already, before it vanishes. (Yes, this is all one huge link.)

2) I have photos from Sunapee up on Facebook. I think you should be able to click here to see them, if anyone is interested and has not already seen them. They are mostly of my kids because I am clearly biased.

3) There is also this most awesome of videos of Ryan and Avery having a water noodle fight up at Sunapee. Ave is going to kill me for posting this yet again, but I just think it is the funniest thing. Sometime in the next week I shall have an updated version complete with my 7 year old niece running to her rescue and knocking Ry down into the water. I was just waiting for an ok from her folks before I posted it.

4) Has anyone tried those banana vivanno's at Starbucks? I am obsessed... and I think I cracked the recipe today in my blender. Here is what I put in:

1/4 cup lowfat plain yogurt
1/4 cup lowfat milk
1 banana
1 tbsp Whole Foods 365 Chocolate syrup (because it is like dark chocolate)
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp sugar (because I became worried about the cocoa powder being too bitter)
Scoop of vanilla protein powder
1 tsp creamy peanut butter
Handful of ice

And then I blended it.

And then Gideon and I drank it all.

I had originally only put in the banana, milk, chocolate syrup, and protein powder, but it didn't taste right... the above combo seems to be as close as I will probably get it.

5) This woman I know wrote this amazing J2 AU fic called Keep Coming Around back at the beginning of June. I am made of fail busy and only just found the time to read all 26,403 words of it. It is worth it. All Supernatural fans who have any inkling of what J2 AU means should go read it here. Then you should read the sequel. If you have no idea what I am talking about, please move along to #6.

6) Yesterday was Ry's and my 11th wedding anniversary. That is insane. 11 years seems like the sort of anniversary one should celebrate when they are in their early 40's, not 33, which I am, or 32, which Ry is. That is what we get for getting married so young. Honestly, we don't really pay much attention to our wedding. Getting married was the next logical step in our relationship at the time. I am mostly mentioning this because there was this hysterical someecard on Facebook which said something like "Marrying you was the best thing I ever did for my vagina" which I tried to send to Ry - but kept getting errors - because my vagina is a mess after giving birth to the two kids. Arwyn was a difficult delivery in that she was in fetal distress and as a result I had to have an episiotomy which is when they cut your vaginal opening to make it bigger. (More here if anyone wants more info/wants to have nightmares.) Then they stitch you up all Frankenstein. I have never been the same. Having Gideon just made it more... wonky. So, the irony is that marrying Ry might have been the worst thing I ever did for my vagina. Ha ha ha. Ok, I admit I am probably amusing no one except myself.

7) I joined Ravelry. Are there any knitters here? My username there is ewlyn...

8) My mother-in-law comes in a bit t take kiddos overnight so I can clean my house. House = tornado touchdown zone.

This is interesting...

There are
1
or fewer people with my name in the U.S.A.

How many have your name?

Ok, so this is this thing which takes your name and compares it to the US census and tells you if anyone else has your name. That there is only one of me is not interesting. My full name, for anyone who doesn't already know, is Hadley Langosy and, as far as I know, the only five Langosy's in the world are myself, my mother, my father, my sister, and my daughter... except the results I got told me that there are 1,523 Hadley's and 335 Langosy's...

335?

My father's grandfather, great uncle, and great-grandmother literally fled to the US after his great-grandfather died and left them with a mountain of gambling debt. We have no family records. We know they came from either Hungary or Germany, most likely Germany, and that my great-great grandfather was either a baron or a very wealthy owner of a large chain of race track restaurants. He was also tight with the king. We suspect his name was Robert or some variation of this as every generation of males in the family has had Robert in their name someplace.... but that is all we know. The immigration papers list Langosy as the family name, but we also suspect that this is not true. So, in a way, I may be living my life under a fictional name given to cover ones tracks from debt collectors. A langosi is a type of pancake and we appear as both Langosy and Langosi on census records. How did it end up with a y at the end? I have no clue... but my great-grandfather was a master chef and my mother's theory is that when he was asked to give his name, he gave Langosi as the last name as a joke... and it just... stuck. So I may very well be Hadley Pancake.

I can't sort out how the data was compiled, but I wish I could find out because, honestly, if there are more of us with the last name Langosy, I need to contact them. I have done global searches and I have, as of yet, come up with zip, zilch, zero.

This is how the website explains its data: The program returns an estimate based on available data. It should be considered a "ballpark figure". It will usually return an answer in the right general area, but the chances of the figure being exactly right are very low. Either way, anything over five is more than I know about...
